A second case of attempted destruction of property in Limassol is under investigation, the Police say

For the investigation of a second case of attempted destruction of property in Limassol, the Police are speaking after yesterday's arrest of a 44-year-old man, regarding a similar type of case committed early yesterday in Zakaki.

The 44-year-old is considered the person who tried to blow up a coffee shop on Christmas Day. A 36-year-old man was also arrested for the two cases.

According to a police announcement, the attempt to destroy the property of a coffee shop was reported at noon on December 25, 2025, at the TAE Limassol, by its owner. According to the complainant, in the early hours of the same day, an unknown person placed unknown objects outside his cafe, which he picked up a few hours later. Police tests revealed that the objects placed by the stranger were an explosive device and a canister of flammable material.

As part of the examinations, testimony was secured against the 44-year-old, who has been in custody since yesterday, after his failed attempt to blow up a beer bar in Zakaki. A judicial arrest warrant was issued against him under which he was re-arrested to facilitate investigations.

At the same time, the investigation of the case resulted in testimony against a 36-year-old man, who was also arrested, pursuant to a court warrant, and taken into custody to facilitate investigations. TAE Limassol will continue the exams.
