Marina Ayia Napa hosted for the first time the organization of the 3rd International Dragon Boat Regatta, on the weekend of October 11 and 12, 2025, gathering over 300 athletes from Cyprus, the United Kingdom, the United States, the United Arab Emirates.
The event, held by the International Federation of Dragon Boat, offered a spectacular spectacle to the Ayia Napa Sea, with dozens of crews competing at 100 and 200 meters. Viewers enjoyed a unique two -day racing, speed and synchronization, as the marina turned into a focus on healthy competition and sports competition, with the festive climate accompanying the dynamic efforts of the crews.
The festival was organized by the Municipality of Ayia Napa, with the valuable support of the Famagusta Tourism Body (Ayia Napa - Protaras), OPAP Cyprus and the Cyprus Sports Organization (CMO).
The event culminated on the night of Sunday, October 12th with the awards ceremony and the official closing ceremony at Marina's event Center, with traditional dances, dinner, medal and awards, as well as a dj set that kept the fun until midnight.
Athletes and visitors gave the organizers to the excellent organization, hospitality and scenery of the unique natural beauty of Ayia Napa Marina, stating their admiration for the unique experience offered by the event.
The successful event of the 3rd International Dragon Boat Regatta has shown that Cyprus, and especially Ayia Napa, has now established itself as an important destination for sports and marine tourism, capable of hosting high -level international events.
