The awareness and awareness campaign against rhetorical hatred and misinformation, implemented by the Office of Commissioner for Administration and Human Rights, is underway since last June and will continue dynamically, according to Mrs Lottidis, with new interventions.

The Commissioner said that this is a multifaceted campaign, with the aim of highlighting the dangers caused by toxic public discourse practices, especially on social media.

As he noted, the campaign was reinforced during the pre -election period and is now continuing with new interventions.

According to Ms. Lottidis, posters with messages against rhetorical hatred in public places and signs along the roads were placed during the months of June and July, to note that "although they have now been removed, the action continues with distribution of print materials in state services".

"We wanted to clearly send the message that misinformation and hate rhetoric must stop," Ms Lottidou said, stressing that this is a pan -European phenomenon, which is also treated at European level.

Answering a question, Mrs Lottidis said that the campaign has already received positive comments from abroad, being implemented in collaboration with Equinet, the European Network of Equality Bodies, and has been recognized as good practice by Cyprus partners abroad.

He also said that despite the absence of official cooperation with ministries, there was a positive response from institutions, with the Cyprus Police reproducing the campaign's messages through its own social media.

"Similar was the response of other services, which supported the spread of the message," he said.

The campaign, according to the Commissioner, will continue with new stages every two months, while its office is monitoring the resonance of actions, with the aim of enhancing the impact.
