US President Donald Trump delayed for a year the increase in tariffs on some imported furniture, just hours before the measure was to take effect.
The additional tariffs range from thirty to 50% - and have been postponed to January 1, 2027.
According to a statement from the White House, due to ongoing productive negotiations regarding imports of wood products, President Trump has delayed the increase in tariffs to allow for further negotiations with other states.
US market executives have expressed concern as the country relies heavily on imports from China, Mexico and Vietnam.
