A train carrying chemicals derailed in Kentucky, United States, causing an alarm to the authorities.
The accident occurred near a community of about 350 residents located 100 kilometers northwest of Nashville, the capital of the state of Tennessee.
One of the 30 derailed wagons, carrying liquid sulfur, widely used in fertilizer, was engulfed in flames. Authorities advised local residents to stay indoors and keep windows closed due to the toxic cloud.
The fire was brought under control a few hours later and the local authorities announced that, after measurements, it was determined that there was no risk to public health.
