At least 11 people have died in the sea between Thailand and Malaysia after a boat carrying 70 people capsized.
Those on board were mostly members of Myanmar's persecuted Rohingya community. An official of the port authorities in Malaysia reported that the bodies of 7 people were recovered, while 13 were rescued.
At the same time, officials in Thailand said that in a separate operation, four dead people were recovered. In the same area there was also a boat with two hundred and thirty passengers whose fate remains unknown.
