Limassol grieves about Christ Mikhalaros killed by his son

Journalist and TV presenter Christ Mikhalaros shared on social networks a penetrating message in memory of his former physics teacher Yorgos Hadjigorgiu, who became a victim of a terrible family tragedy that occurred in Limassol on Tuesday morning.

Recall that 80-year-old Yorgos Hajigorgiu, a pension professor, was killed by his own son when he slept in a chair on the ground floor of his house. According to the police, he was inflicted on six stab wounds. The suspect himself announced the crime, calling the police at about 4:25 in the morning.

Mikhalaros, who studied at the Lyceum of the Apostles Peter and Paul, recalls the professor with warmth and respect:

“Yorgos Hajigaorgiu, or just the“ Siu ”, as we called him, was an example of tolerance, restraint and kindness. He never shouted - he only gently spoke “Siu ... Siu”, raising two fingers to calm us down. He seemed harmless, almost sleepy, but everyone respected him. The memory of him will remain eternal. "

The post of Christ is accompanied by a school photograph, where he, then another 18-year-old disciple, stands with a smile-a reminder of a bright youth and a teacher who remained in his memory forever.

The 48-year-old son, who admitted the murder of his father, will not participate in the court hearings-his mental state is recognized as incompatible with the proceedings.
