There is no crisis, there may be some technocratic differences over the Cyprus -Greece electric interconnection project (GSI), the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, told HuffPost.
He added that this is a project of strategic importance, which "the Republic of Cyprus and supports and wants to be implemented".
"There were some actions that went out of the context of the synonym we had with the Greek Prime Minister recently in New York and a few days ago in Copenhagen during the EU informal council," he said.
"But I want to take advantage of the opportunity of your question why I see reactions from some. And I want to say that Athens' relations with Nicosia, my relationships with the Greek Prime Minister are the strongest that have ever been. And I do not say it because there is a crisis, there is no crisis, to present a different image. To repeat for many times: the Republic of Cyprus and supports and wants to be implemented, "said President Christodoulides.
"We will not accept the governments of Cyprus and Greece, in any way the irrational disputes by Turkey that escape international law," the President of the Republic told HuffPost.
President Christodoulides said he supports the decision they have made together with Kyriakos Mitsotakis on political and economic criteria to proceed with the project.
He added, according to HuffPost, that there is an agreement on an additional 25 million disbursement - ie 50 million in advance - to implement ADMIE his commitments and to "peel off" the "brake" construction.
