How Limassol is transformed

The authorities will spend 660 million euros from the budget and European funds on the development of Limassol. The plans include large infrastructure projects, social undertakings, the development of a higher education sector and much more.

All future projects are divided into five large categories.

 

Social and housing policy - healthcare (120 million euros)

- the construction of social housing for 138 apartments in the area of the hagios Nikolaos (16 million euros); - repair and modernization of refugees from the occupied territories; - eight new apartment buildings under the Ktizo program (7.6 million euros); - repair of 37 emergency apartment buildings (8.3 million euros); - subsidies for the repair of apartment buildings with sustainability problems (10 million euros); - construction of student dormitories of the University of Tepak for 500 seats in the Berengaria area (56 million euros); - construction of a special center with autistic spectrum disorders; - new kindergartens; - creating a childcare center in the multifunctional center of the municipality of amafuntes (2.9 million euros); - subsidizing the repair and expansion of the Muttaii kindergarten (330,000 euros); - radical modernization of the Center for 24 -hour care for elderly people in the village of Vasa Kilaniu and the creation of the center for adults with special needs in the cluster Kuris-Kokilurikos (1 million euros); - Modernization of the Limassol State Hospital (21 million euros): the opening of new departments of special care, hemodialysis, ambulance, infectious diseases, operational assistance, as well as the purchase of new equipment; - the introduction of the Red button for the elderly.

 

Infrastructure - Message - Road policy (42 million euros)

- the construction of the northern bypass road (200 million euros); - Limassol -Settas road (96 million euros); - the opening of Aktea Street, - the creation of dedicated lines, bicycle paths, landscaping of embankments (19.3 million euros); - intercepting parking lots at Alfameg and Tsirio Stadium, and 4 million Catoi Rigonas and Catoi Redemine (4 million euro); - reconstruction of the Square of Heroes (5.5 million euros); - The creation of the embankment and the new park in the area of the hagios Ioannis (1.1 million euros).

 

Innovation - culture - education (140 million euros)

- Technopark in Pentacomo; - development of the University of Tepak (104 million euros); - construction of a new technical subsidiary in Limassol; - pilot launch of technical gymnasium in polemica; - new special schools: "Apostleus Lucas" and "Erytros Stavros" (13 million euros); - the construction of new schools or the expansion of existing ones: kindergarten and elementary school No. 19 (6.8 million euros), technical subsidence No. 2 (6.5 euros), kindergarten and elementary school No. 6 (5.3 million euros), elementary school No. 2 in Kolossi (4.3 million euros), kindergarten in Ipsonas (1.3 million euros) - modernization of the Kurion Museum (2.8 million euros), - - - - - 2.8 million euros), - - The improvement of the center of Kiperunda, the Botanical Park of the Fasula, the observatory in Agridia, the Square of Anogira.

 

Environment - Ecopolitics (60 million euros)

- modernization of the Limassol waste management plant; - sewer network in Pirgos and Parecklish (15.5 million euros), - the opening of two new units by desalination at the port and at the mouth of the Garillis River; - subsidies to combat water weapons (9 million euros); - antipartical project in the Amatos River (4.5 million euros); smart lighting and digital parking management (770,000 euros).

 

Sports - Tourism (22 million euros)

- Modernization of the stadium. Spiros Cyprian (14 million euros); - modernization of the Tsirio stadium (8 million euros).

 

This list does not include private development projects, for example:

-A complex of four towers on the site of the Kean plant,-a new residential and business area in the hagios Afanasios,-a trade and office complex between the Avenue of Archbishop Makarios III and ul. AGIAS Zonis, - a residential complex at the intersection of Pafo and OMONIAS Avenues, - a project with residential, sports and hotel infrastructure to the west of the Moni power station, and others.
