The authorities will spend 660 million euros from the budget and European funds on the development of Limassol. The plans include large infrastructure projects, social undertakings, the development of a higher education sector and much more.
All future projects are divided into five large categories.
Social and housing policy - healthcare (120 million euros)
- the construction of social housing for 138 apartments in the area of the hagios Nikolaos (16 million euros); - repair and modernization of refugees from the occupied territories; - eight new apartment buildings under the Ktizo program (7.6 million euros); - repair of 37 emergency apartment buildings (8.3 million euros); - subsidies for the repair of apartment buildings with sustainability problems (10 million euros); - construction of student dormitories of the University of Tepak for 500 seats in the Berengaria area (56 million euros); - construction of a special center with autistic spectrum disorders; - new kindergartens; - creating a childcare center in the multifunctional center of the municipality of amafuntes (2.9 million euros); - subsidizing the repair and expansion of the Muttaii kindergarten (330,000 euros); - radical modernization of the Center for 24 -hour care for elderly people in the village of Vasa Kilaniu and the creation of the center for adults with special needs in the cluster Kuris-Kokilurikos (1 million euros); - Modernization of the Limassol State Hospital (21 million euros): the opening of new departments of special care, hemodialysis, ambulance, infectious diseases, operational assistance, as well as the purchase of new equipment; - the introduction of the Red button for the elderly.
