A law approved by the plenary amended the regulation of the establishment and operation of hotels and tourist accommodation law in order to ensure the implementation of European provisions for the collection and community of data relating to short -term lease services.
The European Regulation sets out an integrated framework for action to regulate these accommodation on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
In particular, the prevention of illegal registration in the platforms is strengthened and rules are set by which short -term lease landlords, ecines of short -term leasing of real estate and the competent authorities of the Member States in order to ensure that the Ep.
The N/S will harmonize the listing requirements for the landlords and properties offered for short -term lease, clarifying the rules to ensure the projection and control of registration numbers, rationalizing the statistics/data between the platforms and the in centralized form by competent authorities and researchers and imposing penalties in the event of non -compliance.
During the discussion of the N/S, it was now emphasized that a single framework is now established, in order to collect reliable information on the short -term lease in the EU.
This framework comes into force on 20 May 2026.
