Lecture on "Italian Foods: A Scientific View of Tradition, Culture and Modern Research" at TEPAK

The Embassy of Italy in Cyprus and the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science of the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) are organizing, in the context of the celebration of the "Week of Italian Cuisine in the World", a lecture entitled: "Italian Foods: A Scientific View of Tradition, Culture and Modern Research".

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 18:00, at Amphitheater 2, Tassos Papadopoulos Building, of the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol (Themis and Iphigeneia corner).

The speaker will be Professor Paola Pittia from the University of Teramo (Italy), distinguished scientist in the field of Food Science and Technology. Her research focuses on conventional and innovative food processes, the functionality of biomolecules and the development of new, sustainable ingredients and products with improved health and stability properties. Professor Pittia has a rich research work, with more than 200 publications in international scientific journals and many years of experience in teaching and developing curricula in the field of Food.

The lecture aspires to highlight the close relationship between tradition, culture and food science, presenting Italian gastronomy through the lens of research and innovation.
