With the recent ‘threats’ against Cyprus regarding the genocide in Palestine and its subsequent spill over into Lebanon, I’m curious as to whether any fuss has been made over the presence in Ayia Napa, of a certain Stephen Yaxley Lennon, aka ‘Tommy Robinson’
This individual’s incendiary polemics and ‘posts’ have been amongst others responsible for some of the worst disorders seen in the UK for over a decade.
‘Robinson’, or ‘Rubenstein’ as he’s known in some quarters, effectively lit the fuse and then scurried off to Cyprus. His lickspittle minions in the UK, who lapped up this rabble rouser’s verbal and written discharge, taking up – not that they need much encouragement – the cudgel. ‘Robinson’ has been feverishly tweeting and messaging on social media to fan the flames. Interviews from his £400 a night hotel room in Ayia Napa were given to primarily the Israeli media, though Indian journalists amongst others, were also lapping up ‘Tommy’s’ inflammable diatribes.
Are there not any laws pertaining to the inciting and/or inflaming racial, religious etc. hatred in Cyprus, especially by a ‘tourist/terrorist’ such as ‘Tommy’? Being an EU member, Cyprus is bound by the plethora of anti-discriminatory legislation established by Brussels.
How ironic it is that this tinpot demagogue ‘English patriot’, actually travels on an Irish-EU passport, obtained through his Irish mother. Being at the fore front of Brexit, he rendered his British passport virtually useless in Europe!Due to the sensitive geographic and political situation in the Eastern Mediterranean – coupled with the rather explicit threats made by Hezbollah towards Cyprus – could one not argue that this odious polemicist, given his extreme open support for Israel via both social media, at demonstrations and through posted photos of him posing with Israeli military equipment, was placing Cyprus in an unnecessarily precarious situation?
