The tornado took no more than five minutes to level greenhouses in the Moni area of Limassol.
Agronomist and owner of the greenhouses affected by the phenomenon, Rafael Nicolaou, said that within 5 minutes, damage amounting to about 20,000 euros was caused, while, as he added, by luck, no workers were injured.
Today, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture are expected at the agricultural enterprise to inspect and calculate the damage. The farmer is expected to be compensated. However, according to him, it will only cover broken structures, and not the loss of the entire crop.
Nicolaou said that the other day they were supposed to plant tomatoes in greenhouses, but now this is impossible to do.
