A baby aged one year and four months was injured yesterday afternoon in a road collision in Limassol. Police are looking for the skate operator involved, who left the scene of the crash.
According to a police announcement, at around 3.20 pm yesterday Monday, while a 43-year-old woman, who was holding her child, aged one year and four months, was crossing a pedestrian crossing on a bicycle path in spite of 28th October street, in Limassol, under circumstances that are being investigated, she was allegedly hit by a passing skate operator, who was traveling on the bicycle path.
As a result, the mother and her toddler fell to the ground and the child suffered serious head injuries. The child was taken to a polyclinic in Limassol and then to Archbishop Makarios III Hospital in Strovolos, Nicosia, where he is being treated. According to the treating doctors, his health condition is considered serious, but out of danger.
The operator of the skate left the scene of the collision, with the Police conducting investigations to verify his details and locate him.

The Limassol Traffic Department continues the examinations.
