Another violation of the migration legislation of the Republic of Cyprus occurred on Wednesday, June 9. In the Turkish part of Cyprus, ten migrants were arrested who were trying to get into the republic from the north.
The illegal immigrants arrived from the city of Mersin, located on the southeastern coast of Turkey, by boat.
According to Turkish Cypriot media reports, one migrant was initially spotted trying to illegally enter the territory of the republic. After his arrest, he betrayed his other comrades in misfortune.
Let us recall that last Sunday, June 6, 13 Syrian migrants were found in a truck that arrived on a ferry from Turkey to the port of Famagusta. Then each of the Syrians, for their “delivery,” paid a tidy sum of 5 thousand dollars. What then is the cost of arriving in less comfortable conditions, such as a boat on the high seas? Moreover, what will be the consequences for the republic after a constant, uncontrolled influx of refugees?
