One of the oldest shelters of Limassol, Sirius Dog Sanctuary, turned to the inhabitants of Cyprus with an open call for help.
The reason is the eviction from the territory that the volunteers team occupied for 22 years. The land plot where the shelter was located was sold, and until November 30, 2025, the organization is obliged to free the territory.
The Sirius shelter has remained a house for dozens of homeless dogs for many years, offering them safety, medical care and a chance for a new life. In a published statement, the shelter team admitted that the news about the sale of land was a “real blow” for them and caused “shock and strong emotional stress”.
To date, the main task is to find a solution for the resettlement of pets. Volunteers must transport 14 dogs along with equipment and enclosures. To do this, they need at least 13 safe new aviarys or a plot of land where existing structures can be transferred.
“Your kindness and support have always helped us overcome difficulties. We believe that together we can find a way out and save our dogs safe, ”the shelter said in a statement.
Volunteers ask all the caring residents of Cyprus to help - whether it is the provision of land, the construction of aviary or financial support. Detailed information on how to make your contribution is published on the official website and
Facebook shelter page
