Autumn is the beginning of a new year

Autumn is the beginning of a new year

Those who found themselves in Cyprus for the first time in August are surprised that practically nothing can be done; all tasks are postponed until the fall. More than half of the island’s residents go on vacation at this time, and even those who continue to work seem to be in no hurry. But all this is behind us. The September issue of the newspaper “Bulletin of Cyprus” has been published, which means that life in Cyprus is gradually returning to normal: adults return to work, children go to school.

That is why we tell you in some detail about news from the field of education, give practical advice, and share useful contacts. And we publish an overview of the most significant Cypriot news and events so that you don’t miss anything important.

While Cyprus was resting, “Bulletin of Cyprus” moved to a new office, not just an office - a real house, surrounded by greenery. We found a very pleasant place in the city center, on one of the most beautiful streets. Moving, as you know, is equal to two fires: it turned out that we have a huge amount of necessary and unnecessary things, where they were hidden in the previous office, as soon as they fit there is unclear. In addition to files of newspapers and magazines (we keep an archive for 29 years), we also have a huge amount of props for events. The next two are the Best Legal conference (October 10) and the final series of Galaxy of Talents gala concerts (November 23-24). Don't miss it!

The main highlight of the 10th Legal Conference is the Lawyers Meet Expats theme and its implementation. We plan to organize a large number of individual 1x1 meetings and moderated networking. As well as communication in a new format for us, unconference (non-conference), when the content of plenary sessions is not invented in advance, but is formed directly during the event, by the participants themselves. Thus, only issues that are interesting to those people who are in the room are discussed. The conference website is www.blcyprus.com – you can read more there.

Galaxy of Talents is also unusual this year. Firstly, we are celebrating our 15th anniversary, so the series of concerts runs from February to November. Secondly, for the first time children's concerts will be held in Nicosia. This means that we are looking for new schools - after all, for fifteen years we have worked mainly with Limassol groups. The concept of Galaxy of Talents is to gather 200-250 children from different schools (dance, sports, theater) on one stage, give them the opportunity to watch each other’s performances, show themselves not only to their own, but also to “other people’s” parents, to feel like real artists . Alone, schools cannot rent such large theaters and gather such audiences, but together we can! If you know good schools in Nicosia, please recommend that they take part - there will be four gala concerts in November, for different ages and performance levels.

Autumn is the beginning of a new business year. From mid-September all companies will begin to organize events, presentations and meetings; October and November are the busiest times for the business world in Cyprus. Because “Christmas is coming soon” and everything needs to be done in time. Perhaps these are the busiest months of the year. We wish you to spend them profitably! And don’t forget to visit our website www.vkcyprus.com to read the news there daily!
