On Wednesday, September 24, at the Hippodrome, Hags Dometios in Nicosia, an accident occurred in Nicosia.
An uncontrollable horse injured a 67-year-old stable worker who died in the hospital a few hours later.
The incident occurred at about 16:00, before the start of the first races. The horse hit the groom, threw it away and, breaking through the fence, jumped out onto the treadmill. At some point, the animal sharply wagged and knocked down a man trying to stop him.
The victim was first delivered to a private clinic, and then transferred to the hospital of the general profile of Nicosia, where he died from injuries at about 3:00 at night on September 25.
Investigation of the circumstances of the tragedy is conducted by the police agios Dometios.
