The 60-year-old owner of two dogs shot in cold blood on January 9 in Paphos, Evangelos Socrates, is in a state of shock, according to a statement from the Environmental Movement.
Let us remember that he found them dead after they were shot. The man reported that the suspect admitted his guilt, telling Polis police that the dogs ate his chickens.
Animal advocacy group the Environmental Movement and Civic Partnership has raised concerns about gun ownership among the general population. This incident should be of particular concern to society because those who so easily kill animals could just as easily turn on people, as has unfortunately happened in the past.
“We are faced with yet another horrific crime against animals. Killing dogs in cold blood is a reprehensible act and should alarm the public. We demand strict implementation of the law, bringing to justice the person responsible for this barbaric act, as well as punishing him according to the law. Society will no longer tolerate crimes against animals going unpunished,” said Anti Action Group Coordinator Anti Muzuri.
