On Wednesday, March 12, the Fire Service of Cyprus warned the population about the need to be careful when using dangerous hatches in small settlements.
As it turned out, on Tuesday, March 11, at 09:43, a man fell into a hole about four meters deep in the courtyard of his house due to the fact that Luke's cover could not withstand his weight.
According to the press security secretary of Andreas Kettis, “a special rescue binding was used, and a member of the fire brigade pulled out a person, after which he was taken by the ambulance service for transportation to the Nicosia emergency medical care.”
Kettis said that this problem is “quite common”. He called on the population to report damaged lugs of the heads of the community or municipal council in order to prevent such incidents.
