Cyprus will pass protests dedicated to the accident in Tembi

Two years have passed since the accident in Tembi.

The investigation is still underway, and the cause of the death of many victims has not yet been established. Relatives accuse the authorities of tightening the investigation and an attempt to hide the evidence. Those accusations deny.

Two years later, new audio documents continue to appear that shock. Among them are the calls of relatives to number 112 who are asking for help to children in a fatal train.

Among the 57 dead were two children with Cyprus, Cyprianos and Anastasia, two young children who studied in Greece. However, their dreams were unfairly destroyed in a fatal train.

It is expected that on the day of the tragic anniversary Greece will be paralyzed. A nationwide strike of workers will take place, dedicated to the second anniversary of the deadly railway catastrophe.

Similar events will be held in Cyprus: in Nicosia and Larnak, at 17:00, and in Limassol at 18:00, under the main slogan “Justice to the end”.

Recall that on February 28, 2023, a passenger train, which followed from Athens to Thessaloniki, collided with a forehead with a truck. Before the collision, both trains moved towards each other for one path for 19 minutes. As a result of the accident, 57 people died near the city of Larisa, many of them were students.

This disaster was caused by a human factor and serious shortcomings of the Greek railway network. The new expert report, published last week, also showed that the commodity train transported cargo, including explosive substances, with violation of the requirements. Because of this, the crash was accompanied by a strong fire.

After the clash, many passengers suffocated, the report said. In the recordings of telephone conversations between rescuers and victims, one of them screamed that she had no oxygen. These words were written on the posters of some participants in the demonstration in Athens.
