In Cyprus, a poacher was fined 23,500 euros
Officials from the Department of Game and Wildlife Protection fined a man €23,500 for poaching.

By the way, this incident became one of the most serious in recent years in Cyprus.

In particular, a few days ago, several wire loops were discovered in the Arminou community in the Paphos area, installed for the purpose of capturing wild animals.

Since the discovery of the trap, the area has been under surveillance. This morning, employees detained a person who was checking and adjusting the position of the hinges. A search of his car found two more wire loops, and a search of his home revealed another.

It is worth mentioning that another case of poaching in Cyprus was previously recorded. In particular, the offender was discovered while checking a car on a highway in the Limassol area. The man was carrying a gun and ammunition in his trunk.
