Cyprus has already chosen a representative for Eurovision 2025

Cyprus has become the first state to announce the name of its representative at the Eurovision 2025 contest. As it became known on September 2, the country will be represented by Evangelos Theodorou, performing under the stage name Theo Evan.

Evangelos Theodorou studied at the English School of Nicosia, where he sang in the choir. He then moved to the United States to study music and performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston. In 2021, he released his first single, The Wall. He acted as an extra in the HBO series Euphoria.

The composition that Theodorou will perform in Basel will be presented later.

Next year the song competition will be held in the Swiss city of Basel. The final date has already been determined - May 17. By tradition, the host country of Eurovision becomes the state whose representative took first place in the previous competition. This year the winner was the Swiss singer Nemo with the song The Code. Australian singer of Cypriot origin Celia Kapsis took 15th place with the song Liar at Eurovision 2024.

The text was prepared based on materials from Politis and Cyprus Mail

Meanwhile

After the success of the Cypriot film Find me Falling on Netflix, the streaming service turned its attention to another product - a Cypriot series. Famagusta will be released on September 20 this year. You can read more about both projects here.
