On Monday, March 3, firefighters saved two people stuck on the cliffs of Cape Greco in Aiya-Nap.
According to the representative of the fire service Andreas Kettis, the incident occurred in the area between Agagia Anargiri and the Gulf of Connos. At 15:56, the firefight Famaguste received an emergency call and quickly sent a rescue team to the place with specialized equipment.
Service staff used rescue equipment to safely evacuate the victims. After salvation, they were handed over to doctors and delivered to the emergency department of the Famagust Hospital for a medical examination. The condition of the victims is still unknown.
The rescue operation was also involved in a special unit of response to natural disasters (EMAK). The United Coordination Center for Salvation (JRCC) was informed, and the port and naval police were in theperture mode in case of additional assistance.
The circumstances in which people were trapped until they are revealed. Cape Greco, known for his steep cliffs and strong currents, attracts tourists and adventure lovers, but can also be a serious danger.
