An emergency occurred at a public school in the Aradippou municipality in Larnaca.
The other day, an 8-year-old student, trying to escape from children who were bullying him, received serious injuries, cutting a tendon and two veins on the broken glass of an educational institution door. The victim was immediately taken to the emergency department of the city's central hospital, where doctors treated him. The child was operated on and then placed in intensive care. Only 3 days later the boy was discharged.
The father of the injured child wrote a complaint to the police, in which he expressed dissatisfaction with the way the school management responded to the incident, and also pointed out bullying at the school. The details of what happened are now being clarified by law enforcement agencies. In addition, the Ministry of Education of Cyprus began its own investigation.
In turn, the administration of the Aradippu primary school denied the assumption that the incident was related to bullying. According to management, three children went up to the second floor to use the toilet, which turned out to be closed. In the process of trying to open the door, they broke the glass, which caused injuries to one of the students. The director of the school also stressed that the teachers did everything possible to stop the 8-year-old boy's bleeding and provide him with the necessary first aid.
