A Syrian man was detained in Limassol for running over a Ukrainian citizen and her one-year-old daughter with a scooter.

Limassol police detained a 21-year-old Syrian citizen on charges of hitting a 43-year-old Ukrainian citizen and her 15-month-old daughter with a scooter. A video recording of the incident helped find the suspect. The detainee admitted his guilt. On the evening of December 29, the court issued a warrant for his arrest.

The emergency occurred on the embankment on December 8, when a woman holding a child in her arms was crossing the bike path at a pedestrian crossing. The scooter driver fled. The girl suffered a head injury. She spent three days in Makarios Hospital in Nicosia before being discharged.
