Donald Trump appeared optimistic about ending the war in Ukraine after the meeting in Florida with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky. The American President stated that great progress had been made, adding that the peace talks are in the final stage. Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that 95% of the plan for the end of the war has been agreed upon, adding, however, that the territorial issue remains unresolved. President Trump emphasized that progress has been made in the last month, noting that this is not an agreement that can be reached in a day. At the same time, the President of the United States declared his willingness to address the parliament of Ukraine, expressing the belief that it would be a helpful move. Regarding the nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia, Donald Trump said that Vladimir Putin is working with Ukraine to open it, adding that Moscow did not hit the station with missiles. Finally, when asked if an agreement has been reached on a free trade zone in Donbass, the American President said that the matter remains open, but its solution is very close. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that during the meeting in Florida, all aspects of the peace framework were discussed. President Zelensky said that Washington and Kiev consider security guarantees a key milestone in achieving lasting peace, adding that teams from the two sides will continue to work on all aspects. Regarding the territorial issue, the Ukrainian President reiterated that Kiev and Moscow have different positions regarding the Donbas, saying characteristically that "we must respect the law and our people as well as the territory we control".
