In Turkey, 3 policemen died and 9 others were injured, during an armed conflict with jihadists - members of the Islamic State - in Yalova province.
During the exchange of fire, 6 members of the Islamic State were also killed.
According to Turkey's Interior Minister, Ali Gerlikaya, the police forces carried out an operation in a house where members of the Islamic State were staying.
He noted that during the operation, the police forces came under heavy fire from jihadists, who were found to have Turkish citizenship.
The Turkish interior minister noted that due to the presence of women and children in the house where the terrorists were, the operation was carried out with great care.
He noted that 5 women and 6 children were safely evacuated.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that the fight against the killers who threaten the peace of the nation and the security of the state will continue with determination.
