The United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon announced that an Israeli tank opened fire on its patrol in the southern part of the country, clarifying that there were no injuries.
The incident, which occurred along the "blue line", is characterized as a serious violation of Security Council resolution 17-01.
The UN notes, in fact, that the Israeli armed forces that were in Lebanese territory had been informed in advance of the time and area of the patrol by the members of the peacekeeping force.
