Germany: Flight delays and cancellations due to drone near airport

The sighting of a drone near Berlin/Brandenburg Airport caused flight delays and cancellations last night.

Police are monitoring the airport with two helicopters in a bid to track down either the drone or its operator, while flights resume. Incidents of drone sightings near German airports have recently increased significantly.

The German government has announced the creation of a special coordination center to deal with drones, while it has now authorized the police to even shoot them down under certain conditions.
