Of decisive importance on the Ukrainian front is the occupation, as reported by the Russian invaders, of the eastern city of Pogrovsk, a development that opens the way for Russian forces to occupy the whole of Donetsk.
According to the Tash news agency, after a raid by troops who have been besieging the city for months, Ukrainian soldiers have begun surrendering to Russian units.
Reuters is unable to independently confirm the news.
At the same time, the Pentagon appears to have given the green light to President Trump to deliver Tomahawk long-range ballistic missiles to Ukraine.
According to US and European officials, the delivery of the missiles will not affect US stockpiles.
