The District Court of Famagusta sentenced a 37-year-old man to fourteen months in prison for the crimes of kangaroo slaughter and illegal stay in the Republic, according to the Police.

The case was revealed nine months ago, following information about an animal being dismembered in the parking lot of an apartment building, in the free city of Famagusta.

During the Police examinations, it also emerged that the convicted person was residing illegally on the territory of the Republic, after his request for asylum in 2022 was rejected.
