Elections for a new president of the Eurogroup - The Finance Ministers of Greece and Belgium are candidates

The Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, will preside, today, at a meeting of the Eurogroup in Brussels, during which the elections will be held to elect the new president of the House.

The candidates are the Greek Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierakakis, and the Belgian Minister of Budget, Vincent Van Peteghem.

In the framework of the meeting, the Ministers will also exchange views with representatives of the International Monetary Fund, on the economic challenges and policies of the euro area. This will be followed by a discussion on macroeconomic developments and the fiscal outlook of the Eurozone.

On Friday, Mr. Keravnos will participate in the work of "Ecofin", focusing on the Strategy for the Union of Savings and Investments.

According to a relevant announcement by the Ministry of Finance, within the framework of the session, amendments will be approved to the national Recovery and Resilience plans of: Cyprus, Latvia, Austria, Greece, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Malta, France, Poland and Portugal.
