Venezuela: Extended powers in Maduro to address any military invasion

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro signed a decree providing him with extensive powers in the event of a military invasion of the country.

Maduro signed the decree of the midst of the crisis with the United States, which have sent warships to the Caribbean, with a stated target to combat drug trafficking.

In recent weeks, US authorities have destroyed 3 high -speed speeds, which allegedly traveled drugs from Venezuela, killing 14 occupants.

Nicolas Maduro believes Washington is working out plans to overthrow it.

The decree enables the Venezuelan president to mobilize the Armed Forces across the country and to give the Army the control of public services and the oil industry.

The period of validity of the decree is 90 days, with the possibility of renewal for another 3 months.
