In Afghanistan, ten dead and 260 injured, is the so far toll of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake in the northern part of the country.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located near the city of Mazar-e Sharif with a population of over half a million, and had a shallow focal depth.
Military rescue and emergency teams immediately went to the earthquake affected areas. Efforts to rescue trapped people, transport the injured and provide assistance to those affected are ongoing.
