The "Alexandra" Traditional Dance Workshop of Cyprus, the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK), the Open University of Cyprus (APKY) and the School of Physical Education and Sports of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (SEFAA EKPA) are organizing the 1st Panhellenic Traditional Dance Conference in Cyprus with the theme "Traditional Dance in Scientific Sphere of the 21st Century" to be held in Limassol ("Tassos Papadopoulos" Building - TEPAK) from November 21 to 23, 2025.
The Conference is organized in Cyprus for the first time and has been placed under the auspices of the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth. It aims at the necessity of coupling research documentation with practical application so as to highlight the multiple roles of traditional dance and its dancers in contemporary social, cultural, artistic, academic and pedagogical contexts, as well as the accompanying perceptions, practices and applications.
For this purpose, distinguished scientists from Great Britain, Greece and Cyprus, as well as a large number of researchers, will be involved in an interesting scientific dialogue on key issues of Dance Science. As part of the conference, experiential workshops will also take place.

• Theresa J. Buckland, Emeritus Professor of the University of Roehampton and Fellow of the British Academy
