Israel will destroy Hamas's tunnels in Gaza Strip

Israel has announced that it will destroy the remaining tunnels in the Gaza Strip, used by Hamas fighters, shortly after the release of hostages.

According to Defense Minister Israel Kats, the operation will be carried out directly by the Israeli army, as well as through the international mechanism led by the United States.

Kats said he ordered the troops to prepare for the execution of the mission, adding that Israel's goal remains to demilitate Gaza and Hamas's disarmament.

In the meantime, a source from Hamas said the Palestinian organization would not rule the Gaza Strip and would not participate in the transitional phase at all.
