PtD: Norway's decision to lift the arms embargo against Cyprus is particularly positive

President Christodoulidis described Norway's decision to lift the arms embargo against Cyprus as particularly positive.

He pointed out that the development is also related to the decisions of the European Union regarding Safe and the decision of the Republic of Cyprus to utilize the available community resources. He also underlined that it is also a recognition of the role of Cyprus in the region, as a predictable and reliable partner.

At the same time, when asked to comment on the revival of the "3+1" format, the President emphasized that one of the main goals is the identification of the interests of the Republic of Cyprus, not only with the neighboring states, but also with powerful actors of the international system such as the United States. He pointed out that one such sector is that of energy in which there is close cooperation, adding that it is a key pillar of Nicosia's foreign policy. In this direction, the president of the Republic said, in the coming weeks there will be developments and announcements will be made.
