On November 15 and 16 I will run the Run180, an individual challenge challenge, 180 km in 15 hours, starting from Limassol, passing through Nicosia and finishing in Larnaca, in Finikoudas, as part of the Radisson Blu International Marathon.
Run180 is not just a long run. It is a voice for a community that often stays on the sidelines.
In Cyprus, 1 out of 10 fellow humans live with a rare condition, that is, about 60,000 people and their families. Every day they fight with uncertainty, long waiting for diagnosis, limited support and often without a clear therapeutic choice.
Behind the numbers there are stories of power and courage, I mean parents fighting for their children, young people trying to live a normal life, families who do not give up.
For me, the Run180 is a way to turn kilometers into raising awareness, solidarity steps and donations to real support.
It is also a personal station, I celebrate 8 years of course, endurance and transformation here, on the island I call home.
I work with the Cyprus Alliance for Rare Disorders (Pancyprian Alliance of Rare Diseases) who is struggling daily for better health policies, information and support for those who need it.
My goal is to raise € 28,000 to boost their work.
Even a small contribution, such as 20 € (9 cents per kilometer), can make the difference.
Thanks to all the partners and sponsors who have already responded positively. And to anyone who wants to support with donation, encouragement or any other form of support, you know that it means too much to me.
