Marios Skandalis assumes the duties of General Manager at the Cyprus Banks Association, succeeding Michalis Kamma. He will officially take over the leadership of the Banking Association on 1 January 2026.
According to an announcement by the Cyprus Banks Association, following procedures that took place in the previous months, the Board of Directors chose Mr. Skandalis for the position of General Manager.
Mr. Skandalis has a long experience and track record in the banking sector, specializing in compliance, organization and governance issues. He is also a member of the Association of Chartered Accountants of Cyprus (SELC), of which he was also President.
As mentioned, he knows the Cyprus Banks Association well, as he has collaborated in the past on a number of successful initiatives and projects of the organization, including missions to the United States and the European Union, aimed at improving the international image of the Cypriot banking sector.
The outgoing General Director, Michalis Kammas, welcomed Mr. Skandalis to the Association's offices for a first meeting to get to know the organization's staff and procedures.
Welcoming him, Mr. Kammas said that "a very good group of executives will support the vision and plan that Mr. Skandalis will bring with him, ensuring the continuity and progress of the Association's work."
In turn, Marios Skandalis noted that "I feel blessed to work with such a fantastic team for the well-being of the society and businesses of Cyprus, further strengthening the resilience of our Association and highlighting it as a model of operation both nationally and at the European level".
