In Brazil, 6 people were killed and 750 injured, by a tornado that swept through a town in the southern part of the country.
The death toll could rise, authorities warn, as rescue teams comb the area.
Within minutes, the tornado leveled houses and overturned cars.
The area was declared a state of emergency.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
