The Open Museum project, executed by principal artist @paparazzi and assistant artist @pest, extends a formal invitation to media representatives, cultural figures, and the public for the opening ceremony, titled “Hello, my name is… Salvador Dalí.”
The Art and the VisionThe mural, located on the wall of the Athinon parking lot, serves as a contemporary educational work, designed to inspire residents and visitors to engage with the history of art and the complex psychology of surrealism.
● Concept: The work is a deep dive into Dalí’s “paranoid-critical method,” visually exploring the internal geometry of his mind and his lifelong fascination with science, including DNA, atomic physics, and the search for immortality.
● Location & Dimensions: Athinon Parking (behind Anexartisias Main Street). The mural measures 15 meters by 8 meters.
● Open Museum Mission: The project transforms Limassol into a living, accessible gallery, fulfilling the organization’s mission to make high-quality art a permanent, interactive part of daily life for all generations.
Statement from the Organizing TeamThe Open Museum team commented on the significance of this inaugural event:
“We are not merely unveiling a mural; we are initiating a dialogue between Dalí’s genius and the cultural soul of Limassol. The ‘Open Museum’ project is founded on the belief that great art must be accessible. It belongs in the public sphere to provoke thought and inspire education. We invite every spectator to become an active participant in this surreal experiment as Dalí’s ‘Hypercube of Consciousness’ takes its place on a Cypriot wall.”
