The "MariTech Talent" program for the green and digital transition of shipping has been successfully completed

The MariTech Talent Programme, an innovative training program for the green and digital transition in shipping, which took place between 6 and 8 October 2025 in Limassol, was successfully completed.

The program, implemented by the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) as part of the MariTech Talent (Horizon Europe) project, brought together professionals, male and female students of the maritime industry from Cyprus and abroad, offering them a comprehensive learning, collaboration and networking experience.

During the three days, the participants had the opportunity to: attend interactive workshops at TEPAK as well as online webinars through the program's educational platform, participate in a tour of Limassol Port, gaining practical knowledge of modern technologies and processes, and attend the Cyprus Maritime Conference (October 6–8), linking theory to the real needs and trends of the shipping industry.

The aim of the program is to empower the maritime workforce with green and digital transition skills, through a practical approach based on intrapreneurship (INTRApreneurship). In this way, learning is enhanced through a hands-on approach, as participants work on real industry challenges.

The successful completion of the program highlighted the importance of collaboration between academic institutions, businesses and students to develop sustainable and innovative solutions in shipping.

Testimonial – Experience of a participant:

"My participation in the MariTech Talent program was a truly meaningful experience, to which the impeccable organization contributed even more positively. What set it apart was the combination of theoretical training and practical application, as through the workshops and lectures I was able to understand how digital and green technologies are transforming the shipping industry in practice and to learn useful entrepreneurial tools. The most important part of the program was networking with shipping and technology professionals, which opened up new horizons for me in a field with huge prospects for the future and networked me with remarkable people.”
