The Ports Authority shaved off mustaches for Movember in the old port of Limassol

Aiming to raise public awareness of prostate cancer and as part of the Movember Cyprus events, the Cyprus Ports Authority organized an event on Saturday, in the old port of the city, with visitors shaving mustaches in the Movember van.

The place was visited by the President of EOA Limassol, Yiannis Tsouloftas and the Mayor of Limassol, Yiannis Armeutis, who had the opportunity to groom their mustaches and send their own messages about the importance of prostate cancer prevention and in general.

In a statement, the President of the Cyprus Ports Authority, Zenonas Apostolou, said that ALK continues to be a helper in social sensitivity events and expressed the hope that the action will contribute to the awareness of citizens, and especially the male population, around the issue of prostate cancer prevention.

For his part, the President of EOAL, Yannis Tsouloftas, congratulated the Ports Authority and pointed out that it is important for public organizations to support actions and initiatives that promote health and prevention.

"Prevention is very important for dealing with cancer, especially prostate cancer, and the Ports Authority, with its actions, shows that it has a special social sensitivity", he added.

On behalf of EOAL, Mr. Tsouloftas handed over a symbolic amount to support the actions of Movember Cyprus.

Besides, in his statement, the Mayor Yiannis Armeutis said that his presence, on behalf of the municipal Authority, as well as the presence of EOA Limassol, "want to send the message of unity in dealing with these issues of awareness, in general in health matters".

Through grooming our moustache, he continued, we want to send a practical message to the public that prevention is the best cure.
