[VIDEO] Letymiotis: The goal is the resumption of negotiations

Government spokesman Konstantinos Letympiotis stated that the goal of the government, in the first joint meeting between President Christodoulides and the leader of the Turkish Cypriots, Toufan Erhiurman, is to restart the negotiations from the point where they were interrupted.

Speaking on the show "From day to day", he noted that Nicosia expects to hear the positions of the Turkish Cypriot leader.

He pointed out that the government wants progress in the Cyprus issue, through intensive meetings with the Turkish Cypriot side.

The discussions, he said, must be substantive, with the aim of resuming negotiations.
