The evidence that the investigators have in their hands of the brutal murder of Stavros Demosthenos is increasing, which creates optimism for solving the case.
The motorcycle they used to escape from the scene of the arson of the white van was also found, which is expected to provide important information about their identity.
As the RIK correspondent reported, the motorcycle was found hidden in a parking lot in the area of Agios Tychonas.
It was received for scientific examination and now the investigations turn to its owner, as well as the way the executioners left the place where they hid it.
According to the same information, the image that exists is that one perpetrator was wearing a helmet and the other a hat when they left the scene of the arson.
Locating the hat is considered important because it will provide genetic material that will help in identification, either with persons who already have a criminal record or suspects who will be called for questioning or arrested.
The police also confirm the existence of a video which recorded the perpetrators on the way to escape from the scene of the arson.
Two were the bullets that hit Stavros Demosthenos in the head, while eight in total were thrown against the car, in which he was a passenger.
The 18-year-old son of the victim and the driver of the vehicle is not yet in a position to give a written statement, but he was able to verbally report some facts, since there are no other eyewitnesses to the execution.
The perpetrators knew that the car was driven by the 18-year-old, that's why the shots were only aimed at the position of the passenger.
They also seem to have known that he was unaccompanied, as he usually was.
The only thing that has not been clarified yet are the motives, as it seems that the 49-year-old had opened many fronts and all possibilities remain open.
