Residents of the village of Denia, which is located in the Nicosia region, complain that poisoned water containing large amounts of arsenic, exceeding permissible limits, is entering their taps.
Concerned about the quality of the water entering their homes, they conducted chemical tests, the results of which were shocking. A few days ago they received data from private laboratories that is terrifying.
Former village community leader Christakis Panayiotou claims that until the end of his tenure in July, all water tests were clean.
In turn, the head of the Cyprus Health Service, Herodotus Herodotus, stated that “according to the results of recent years and the most recent results of chemical analysis of Denia water, the limits of arsenic content are within the limits established in the relevant legislation. According to the latest analyzes of water from the village water supply, which was done on August 26, 2024, arsenic is within normal limits.”
