Hooligans threw lemons at residents of Zakaki district in Limassol

On January 7, in the Zakaki district, near the juvenile detention center, teenagers threw lemons at local residents.

The incident began when one of the minors got into a verbal altercation with a local resident and began throwing lemons at her. Tensions escalated when other teenagers joined in the fray and also began throwing lemons at other area residents who had gathered at the scene.

The situation escalated, but the intervention of the police who arrived at the scene prevented further escalation of the conflict. Soon order was restored.

The police continue to investigate the incident to find out the causes of the conflict and determine measures to take against the troublemakers.
