A Cypriot government spokesman said that the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, held a “tete-on-tete” meeting with a representative from Donald Trump.
As Mr. Letimpiotis stated, “Trump’s associate was in Cyprus for other reasons.” He clarified that this was not Mike Pompeo, who was in Athens at that time.
According to a government spokesman, the President of Cyprus and Trump's ally discussed the common vectors of development of the two countries and the assumption of office by the newly elected US President.
“For obvious reasons, we cannot disclose the name of the partner,” said Konstantinos Letimpiotis.
