Three defendants were brought to the Central Prisons in connection with a case involving a large amount of drugs, which was detected and seized in Limassol 3 weeks ago. According to the Police, the three persons were arrested on their own for smuggling drugs outside the parking lot of a beach hotel in Agios Tychonas. In their possession and also on their properties, packages containing a total of 12 kilograms of cannabis and approximately 6 kilograms of cocaine were located and confiscated by YKAN.

The three are facing 24 charges of drug possession and trafficking, money laundering, and participation in a criminal organization.
It is recalled that YKAN members, as part of a coordinated operation they carried out on the evening of Friday, November 22, spotted a 33-year-old man driving his vehicle to an area in Limassol, where he met a 50-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman. During the meeting, the 33-year-old man carried a suitcase from his vehicle and placed it in the 32-year-old woman's car. After the three suspects left the scene, the 33-year-old man driving his car, the 32-year-old woman driving her car and the 50-year-old man driving a motorcycle were stopped. directly by the members of YKAN and were subjected to control.

During the check, in the 32-year-old woman's car, the members of the Police found a suitcase, which contained five packages of cocaine, with a gross weight of five kilograms and 770 grams, and five packages of cannabis, with a gross weight of five kilograms and 650 grams, as a result of which she arrested for obvious offences. A mobile phone and the sum of 70 euros were also found in her possession, which were seized as evidence for further examinations.
In the possession of the 50-year-old, the members of the Police found two mobile phones and the sum of 1,845 euros, while in the possession of the 33-year-old they found two mobile phones and the sum of 225 euros, which were also seized as evidence, for further examinations.
This was followed by investigations by members of the National Police, in the premises of the 33-year-old suspect in the Nicosia province, where in one of the premises seven packages of cannabis were found, with a total weight of approximately seven kilograms, while in a second premises, a quantity of cannabis, total weight was found in five bags 140 grams approximately.
In the residence of the 32-year-old woman, a quantity of cannabis, with a gross weight of approximately 13 grams, was found in a search.
